Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District, you immediately get that “right in the thick of things” feeling. I mean, you’re literally on West Monroe in the Loop — you can’t get more central than this. The lobby has that reliable Hampton Inn vibe, nothing too fancy but clean and welcoming, which honestly is exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring Chicago anyway. The three-star property offers straightforward comfort without unnecessary frills.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about this three-star hotel — the location is genuinely spectacular. You’re steps away from the Chicago Theatre (hence the name), and I’ve walked to Millennium Park, the Art Institute, and the Riverwalk from here without breaking a sweat. The couples who stay here aren’t wrong when they rave about the location — there’s something romantic about being able to stroll to dinner in the Theatre District and catch a show without dealing with long commutes. Plus, you’ve got the L right there if you want to venture beyond downtown.
The Room Experience
The room itself is what you’d expect from Hampton Inn — comfortable, predictable, but with some nice touches. Those beds though? They really do live up to the hype. I’m usually a light sleeper, but something about the combination of good mattresses and being tired from walking around the city all day just works. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re efficiently designed, and honestly, when you’re in a location this good, you’re not spending much time in your accommodation anyway.
Morning Routine and Practical Stuff
Breakfast here is continental style, and they do this “breakfast to go” option that’s actually pretty smart if you’re trying to catch an early museum opening or want to eat by the lake. It’s not gourmet, but it gets the job done — and you know what, sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The parking situation is handled too, which in downtown Chicago is honestly a bigger deal than people realize. Having that sorted means one less thing to stress about when exploring the city.
Why Guests Love It
This property nails what matters most — location, comfort, and reliability. You’re paying for the privilege of being in the heart of everything Chicago has to offer, and the hotel delivers on that promise without any surprises. The staff seems to get that most guests are here to experience the city, not the hotel, so they keep things efficient and helpful. For the price point and the location, it’s honestly hard to beat if you want to be walking distance from Chicago’s best attractions without the premium price tag of the fancier downtown hotels. It’s an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers.

The breakfast was excellent, varied offerings including fresh fruit, tasty eggs, potatoes and breakfast meat, as well as waffles and oatmeal, with toppings. These are available in a peasant dining room with staff ready to replenish supplies. In addition, there is a coffee/ tea/ cocoa bar available 24/7.
One aspect of the stay that stands out is how helpful and pleasant the front staff is.
The room itself is large. I was able to book a room with a tub.Elisabeth from United States (8/10)

The hotel is great! Everything was on point about it.
It's located close to all the attractions you would want to visit. It has a metro station just next to it. We got the L Train from the airport which stops exactly next to the hotel.
They have a luggage room so you can leave your luggage before or after check-in/check-out and explore the city.
The food is very very good! It's your usual continental breakfast, but everything they offer is of great quality!
