LondonHouse Chicago, Curio Collection by Hilton Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to LondonHouse Chicago, Curio Collection by Hilton on East Wacker Drive, you immediately get why this four-star hotel has such devoted fans. The building itself is this gorgeous historic structure that somehow manages to feel both classic Chicago and refreshingly modern at the same time. I mean, you’re literally standing at the confluence of the Chicago River’s three branches — honestly, the views from here are something you’d expect to pay extra for, but they’re just part of the experience. The moment you step inside, the elegant lobby sets the tone for what’s to come, with soaring ceilings and thoughtful design touches throughout.
Location & Neighborhood
The Loop location is absolutely unbeatable, and I’m not just saying that because the hotel’s location score is 9.7. You can walk to Millennium Park in about ten minutes, catch a river cruise right from your doorstep, and you’re surrounded by some of the city’s best architecture. What I really love is how you’re close enough to everything — the Art Institute, Navy Pier, all the major shopping — but the hotel sits on this quieter stretch of Wacker that doesn’t feel completely overrun with tourists. The parking situation is handled on-site too, which honestly saves you a headache in this part of Chicago. Being right on the river means you get natural beauty as part of your daily experience.
The Room Experience
The rooms here actually live up to the hype about those “very comfy beds” — and trust me, I’m picky about sleep quality when I travel. The room design strikes this nice balance between sophisticated and welcoming, with floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of those river views. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details, like the lighting that actually works for both getting ready and winding down, and blackout curtains that mean business. Each space feels thoughtfully curated for comfort and style.
Dining & Social Spaces
The rooftop situation here is pretty special — LH on 21 gives you these panoramic city views that make you feel like you’re in on some local secret. The restaurant downstairs has this warm, clubby atmosphere that works whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a proper dinner. I’ve noticed the bar tends to draw a good mix of hotel guests and locals, which always feels like a good sign to me. The culinary offerings showcase quality ingredients and creative preparation.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about this place that just clicks, especially for couples — they consistently rate the location incredibly highly for romantic getaways. Maybe it’s the way the historic charm plays against the modern amenities, or how you feel connected to the energy of the city without being overwhelmed by it. The staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay memorable rather than just checking boxes, and that makes all the difference when you’re trying to make the most of your time in Chicago. This hotel delivers on both substance and style.

My partner and I arrived late at the property, around 2am, the hostess gave us a room on the fifth floor, but after requesting the top floor, she was easily able to switch us rooms, which was great because we were only there for one night.
Our room overlooked the river and the evening views were just as stunning as the next morning. We loved everything about our stay and definitely want to stay here again once in Chicago 😋Tracey from United States (9/10)
