The Chicago Hotel Collection Wrigleyville Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to The Chicago Hotel Collection Wrigleyville on Clark Street, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical chain hotel. It’s got this boutique feel that actually fits the neighborhood — you know, not trying too hard to be fancy, but clearly putting thought into the details. The building itself has character, and honestly, that matters when you’re staying in a place like Lakeview where everything has its own personality.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about this four-star spot — the location is genuinely fantastic if you want to experience Chicago like a local. You’re literally steps from Wrigley Field, which means game days are electric (though, fair warning, they can get pretty crowded). But beyond baseball, you’re in one of the city’s best neighborhoods for just wandering around. The lakefront is an easy walk, and you’ve got Lincoln Park Zoo nearby — I mean, it’s free, so why not? Plus, couples seem to really love this area, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about strolling down these tree-lined streets, especially in the evening.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was well-designed without being over the top. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and — this is important — actually functional lighting for reading or working. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during the day. I appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with trendy design elements that look good in photos but are annoying to live with. The bathroom was modern and the shower had proper water pressure, which honestly can make or break a hotel stay.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves solid American fare, though I’ll be honest — with Lakeview’s incredible dining scene right outside your door, you might want to explore a bit. That said, it’s nice having the option for a quick bite without leaving the building. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood well, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations. They pointed me toward a couple of local spots I never would have found otherwise. Parking is available, which is a real plus in this part of the city where street parking can be a nightmare, especially during Cubs games.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances being a proper hotel with feeling connected to the neighborhood. You’re not stuck in some sterile tourist bubble — you’re actually in Chicago, experiencing what makes Lakeview special. The recent guests who’ve rated the location so highly aren’t wrong. Whether you’re here for baseball, the lakefront, or just to explore one of the city’s most livable neighborhoods, you’ll find yourself perfectly positioned. It’s the kind of place where you can easily imagine spending a long weekend, maybe catching a game, definitely taking advantage of all those great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

Chicago’s hotels wrap guests in skyline pools, butler service, and concierge-led architecture cruises.

  • Joanna from United States (5/10)

The room was clean and comfortable, though the toilet was running constantly, and the wall light over the table was broken.

  • Rebecca from United States (8/10)

Location is wonderful. Close to the ball park and all the action of Wrigleyville. Decor is fun. Rooms are decent size. Only complaint is there is no staff on-site and no staff available until I believe 1pm on Sunday. Which is late if you are checking in for a 2pm game and have questions. I kept getting texts that something was wrong with my card. Turns out they didn't have my zip code but lack of ability to get a hold of anyone was frustrating.

Check in was a breeze! I just called the number on my confirmation via booking.com, and talked to a lady who sent our keys down to the door for us.
