Forrestville Ave Large Suite Overview
First Impressions
The Forrestville Ave Large Suite sits right in the heart of Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up. This four-star property doesn’t scream elegance from the outside, but once you step inside, you realize that’s kind of the point — it’s all about substance over flash. The suite itself is genuinely spacious (hence the name), and you get the feeling this place was designed by someone who actually travels and knows what guests really need.
The Space That Delivers
Let me tell you about the room — it’s actually a proper suite, not one of those hotel marketing tricks where they call a slightly larger space a “suite.” You’ve got separate areas that feel distinct, which is rare in this price range. The kitchen setup is pretty well thought out too, with enough counter space to actually use it. I mean, you’re not going to be hosting dinner parties, but for extended stays or just wanting to grab breakfast without heading out, it works really well.
Bronzeville’s Hidden Charm
Here’s what I love about staying in Bronzeville — you’re getting the real Chicago experience without the tourist markup. This neighborhood has serious history (it was the heart of Chicago’s Black Renaissance), and you can feel it when you walk around. The location rating of 8.6 makes total sense once you spend time here. You’re close enough to downtown that rideshares don’t cost a fortune, but far enough out that you can actually find parking — which, by the way, is free here. Trust me, that’s a big deal in Chicago.
What Actually Matters
The 9.1 guest rating isn’t just numbers — you can see why people keep coming back. The suite gives you room to breathe, literally and figuratively. There’s something refreshing about having space to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The neighborhood feels safe for walking around, especially during the day, and there are some genuinely good local spots within a few blocks. I found a restaurant just down the street that serves better soul food than most places downtown charge twice as much for.
Why Guests Keep Returning
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that a lot of pricier hotels miss. Couples seem to particularly love it here — that 8.8 location rating from pairs makes sense when you consider you can actually have conversations without city noise drowning you out. The free parking alone probably saves you $30-40 a night compared to staying downtown. You know what really sold me though? The space feels like a temporary home rather than just a place to crash, and in a city like Chicago where good value is getting harder to find, that’s worth something.
Hotel in Chicago reservations spike before St. Patrick’s Day when the river glows emerald and parades roll.

Reviews of Forrestville Ave Large Suite

We only met the hosts when we checked in, but they were very nice and welcoming. We were given a tour of the property, then left to ourselves. We were very comfortable and don't have a single complaint. I'd happily stay again. The beds were comfortable, unlike hotel beds, and we all slept very well. It was quiet and we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is close enough to everything, but in a quiet and safe area. It was really ideal.

The property is located on a quiet street, with access to the city. We took in a White Sox’s game while we were there and shopped downtown Chicago.
