My Cozy Heavon Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to My Cozy Heavon on North Maplewood Avenue, you might wonder if you’ve got the right address — it’s tucked into a residential building in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star spot feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a traditional hotel, which is precisely the point. The entrance is understated, but once you’re inside, you realize the owners have put real thought into creating something genuinely cozy rather than just slapping that word on a sign.
Location & Neighborhood
Wicker Park is one of those Chicago neighborhoods that locals actually hang out in, not just tourists — you know what I mean? You’re a short walk from the Blue Line, which gets you downtown in about 15 minutes, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by the kind of coffee shops, vintage stores, and late-night taco joints that make this area feel alive. I spent most evenings just wandering around, discovering little bars tucked into converted storefronts. The couples who stay here clearly get it — there’s something romantic about exploring a neighborhood that feels authentically Chicago rather than being stuck in the Loop with everyone else.
The Space
The room itself lives up to the “cozy” promise without feeling cramped. Actually, it’s more spacious than I expected, with big windows that let in plenty of natural light during the day. The decor strikes that tricky balance between homey and stylish — think exposed brick, comfortable furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel catalog, and little touches like local artwork on the walls. There’s a small kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just for show), which came in handy when I wanted to make coffee in the morning or store leftovers from one of the neighborhood’s generous portions.
Practical Details
Here’s where staying in a residential building gets interesting — parking is street parking, which can be a bit of a hunt during busy times, but that’s pretty standard for this part of the city. The building itself is quiet, even on weekends when Wicker Park gets lively. I mean, you’ll hear some street noise because you’re in the middle of a real neighborhood, but it’s not disruptive. The owners are responsive when you need something, though the setup is more like an Airbnb than a full-service hotel — don’t expect a front desk or daily housekeeping.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about My Cozy Heavon is that it delivers on its promise without trying to be something it’s not. You’re not getting hotel amenities like a restaurant or concierge service, but you are getting a genuine taste of living in one of Chicago’s most interesting neighborhoods. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you consider that guests seem to appreciate the authentic experience over polished hotel services. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own little space in a vibrant area where you can play house for a few days while exploring the city.

My friend and I stayed here for four nights and it was a lovely time. The apt is very on pare with what is stated in the description. The host was really responsive, communicative, and kind.
Best part this apt is very centrally located to all the touristy things you want to check out if you are visiting Chicago.Evgeniya from Israel (9/10)
The place was easy to find and the host was super helpful. Really appreciated his assistance at check-out. The location was convenient, close to public transport and not far from the city center. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Well appointed apartment with an artistic touch.

Nice sized place! Comfortable seating and sleeping areas. Near a bus stop and less than a mile to the blue line. Pharmacy nearby and a couple restaurants within walking distance, including one right next door. Super nice neighborhood. Took a minute to find parking, but we got a spot a block away and just used public transport.
